BLOG TOUR & DREAM CAST - Inspire (The Muse #1) by Cora Carmack

InspireKalliope lives with one purpose.

To inspire.

As an immortal muse, she doesn’t have any other choice. It’s part of how she was made. Musicians, artists, actors—they use her to advance their art, and she uses them to survive. She moves from one artist to the next, never staying long enough to get attached. But all she wants is a different life— a normal one. She’s spent thousands of years living lie after lie, and now she’s ready for something real.

Sweet, sexy, and steady, Wilder Bell feels more real than anything else in her long existence. And most importantly… he’s not an artist. He doesn’t want her for her ability. But she can’t turn off the way she influences people, not even to save a man she might love. Because in small doses, she can help make something beautiful, but her ability has just as much capacity to destroy as it does to create. The longer she stays, the more obsessed Wilder will become. It’s happened before, and it never turns out well for the mortal.

Her presence may inspire genius.

But it breeds madness, too.

A quick disclaimer: A dream cast is just that - a dream. In an ideal world, Inspire would be made into a movie starring these lovely, talented people and I could write the script and direct it and it would be wildly successful and win all sorts of awards! Okay. Maybe not write and direct. That's a lot of pressure. More likely I would just sit in the back somewhere in awe. With popcorn. Gotta have popcorn. But really, this is just a fun way to put faces to the characters that I imagined. I’d love to hear your ideas for who you cast in these roles - feel free to leave them in the comments!

Kalliope

If we were going on looks alone, I think Shay Mitchell (of Pretty Little Liars fame) would be perfect.

But then I started thinking…. who do we know who is THAT gorgeous AND talented enough to totally pull off an immortal muse with millennia full of baggage? Perhaps someone who knows what it's like to handle TONS a of backstory all at the same time. And hell, someone who could play all nine of the muse sisters at once.... TATIANA MASLANY.

(If you don’t know who Tatiana Maslany is, stop reading this blog post and go watch Orphan Black. I’m serious. DO IT NOW. She’s absolutely incredible. And she even has a super unique name to match Kalliope! Oh man...I have such a girl crush on you, T-Mas.)

Wilder

Sweet, sexy, steady...when I think of Wilder, I think of Ryan Gosling. You may recognize him from movies like The Notebook, Blue Valentine, and Crazy, Sexy, Love.  I mean...just look at him:

“Hey girl, I’d love to be in a movie based on that book you wrote.”

Wilder even sometimes wears glasses like Ryan does. And I see one tattoo - now he just needs sleeves!

Rook
Rook is Wilder’s best friend, a moody, brooding musician with tattoos for days and a freaking awesome beard. I imagine him looking a lot like Maroon 5’s front man, Adam Levine.

Jack
Jack is a painter and one of the artists that Kalli provides with inspiration. He’s a hipster with great hair, and the first person that comes to mind when I think of him is Matt Smith, who you may recognize as the Eleventh Doctor from Doctor Who.

Lennox
Lennox, a fashion design student who welcomes Kalli into her circle of friends, is funky and friendly, quirky and unapologetic. She has a style all her own, and she’s often dying her hair colors that may or may not appear in nature. In my head, Lennox looks a lot like Hayley Williams, lead singer for the band Paramore. Especially if you threw some hipster glasses on her.

And last, but certainly not least….
Gwen
So…I’m allowed to time travel when I’m making a dream cast, right? Because Wilder’s sassy little sister is TOTALLY Mary Kate or Ashley Olsen circa 1992.

What do you think? When you read Inspire, how did you picture Kalli and Wilder? I can’t wait to hear your ideas! <3
