Every day you stay gone
I die a thousand more deaths
Lane Parker has secrets he hasn’t even told his closest friends. He may have earned their respect but it’s undeserved. He may seem genuine but he’s a total fraud. He may look strong, but on the inside he’s weak and drowning with no chance of catching his breath any time soon.
After four years, Lane finally gets the call he’s been waiting for. Given back a piece of the life he’s been fighting so hard to reclaim, will he be able to handle everything that comes along with it? And if so, can all of his broken promises be redeemed?
So, I don’t give up and I won’t let them win
I will find you and I will make sure that you know
You’re my everything
New Adult Contemporary Romance: strong language and sexual content. This novel is intended for those 18 years and older.
**NOTE: This
can be read as a standalone. However, I would highly recommend reading Beautiful
Broken Rules and Beautiful Broken
Mess just because I love them all!**
I’m in love with this series all over again. I had
somehow forgotten the magic of Kimberly Lauren’s writing. I’ll admit, the first
book in the series is one of my all-time favorites, the second book was good for
me but not amazing, but the third book? Unexpectedly, unpredictably, undeniable
fantastic. It took me on a journey I never expected. The blurb is really vague
concerning what the book is about, and I’m going to be just as unclear. To be
honest, if I had known what the book was about beforehand, I probably wouldn’t
have picked it up. So, I’m really glad I was able to go in blind and experience
such a heartfelt, emotional story.
“Regardless of my promise that I would
always love you no matter what or my absolute need to make it known I would
always protect you, I made those promises with no intention of breaking them. I
could never fathom a time in my life that I wouldn’t love you. The moment I
first laid eyes on you, my soul knew you and smiled as if he had been waiting
for you all this time.”
This is a very
unique story about unconditional love, persistence, and finding love when
you least expect it. It’s so hard to write a review over a book you can’t say
anything about! But I won’t say anything. Because I can’t ruin it for all of
you. I will just say, it’s very confusing in the beginning. We find out that
for the past four years, Lane has been attending underground boxing matches, competing
to find someone… Only we aren’t sure who that someone is. We only know that
these matches are one of the main reasons that Lane is so freaking hot. But,
never fear, we actually find out who he is looking for pretty quickly. And the
rest of the story begins…
“Something was happening between us.
Something that there wouldn’t be any coming back from. If I could bottle up
that look forever, I promised I would only take it but when I needed the
feeling of being wanted in the most devoted way a man could ever want a woman.
The way Lane looked at me proved the feelings he spoke out loud to me when we
were alone in our bed every night.”
Lane is very different from Jax, Jace, and Cole.
But swoon-worthy in all his own right. I can’t even begin to describe where I
started falling in love with him. At first, I was like meh, stop pining over
this person you are missing. When I found out who it was…Ahhhh! My mind was
blown. His protectiveness is so sexy and I just can’t help how much I love
Lane. We see him grow a lot in this book, but his morals and values all stay
the same. I still love they dynamic of his best friend relationship with Audrey,
and his family relationship with everyone else, including Jace, Jax, Em, Quinn,
and Cole.
“I love you, you know that, right? Like over
the moon, love you.”
“You know I thought when I truly fell in
love that my mind would only think about the girl and there wouldn’t be
anything else. But that’s not how it works at all. Everything around you becomes
important because all of those things could potentially take you away from me.”
“No one can take me from you.”
Now, I can’t say much about the romance aspect in
this book either without spoiling anything. I’ll just say that Lane and Raegan
meet under crazy circumstances, but I love the way they gravitated towards each
other. With the situation they were put in, they had no choice but to lean on
each other for support. And they fell for each other so fast, but tried to deny
the connection for a while, except we all know how that goes. I love Raegan,
and I think she is the perfect match for Lane. She is awe-inspiring, brave,
feisty, honest, and just such a good person. Together, she and Lane are perfect
halves. And in the bedroom? They’re explosive. No one does love scenes like
Kimberly Lauren does.
“Together, we had come to terms with the
hand we’d been dealt and maybe even become thankful for fate—as twisted as that
bitch could be. But we had both been finally given a hand worth fighting to
possess, and how could anyone not be grateful for that?”
I’m sorry my review is so ambiguous. Trust me, it
was hard to write like this. But, once you pick up this book, you’ll definitely
understand why. Half the reason this book is so brilliant is because of all the
twists and turns that you don’t see coming. It’s kind of frustrating to write a
review like this just because I’m barely scratching the surface of how amazing
this book was because to not do so would spoil the whole book. Beautiful Broken Promises had me
laughing, swooning, melting, falling in love, dying, and all the emotions in
between. The book is not dark, but it is highly touching and very surprising. I’m
still in shock over how much I loved it. Oh, and with all the new characters, I’m
happy to report that we get to reunite with Jax, Em, Cole, Quinn, Jace, and
Audrey. I can’t stress how much I need everyone to read this book. This book is
more than just a romance, it’s a story of life and how love can keep life
going.
“I
love you. I love you so much that sometimes I feel as if I’m trying to grab all
of you up into my arms, but it’s never enough. I’ll always want more of you.
Every day I wish I had found you sooner so I could love you longer.”

I want to see it all. I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list.
"She travels the world & home is always in her heart."
Lately if I'm not traveling or chasing a toddler, I'm writing. Which is weird because I hated writing in college. Oh wait, that's because that was boring. Who really wants to sit there and cite all your sources into APA format? Not this girl. Writing for yourself is enjoyable and cathartic. Please try it. Then tell me about because I love indie authors.

Hope you enjoy my books! xoxo KL
