REVIEW - Fallen Crest Family by Tijan

Samantha and Mason are together. Everyone knows it. Not everyone is dealing with it. While Mason’s ready to give them the middle finger, there’s one not going away. Her mother. Threats are issued. Ultimatums are given. Even blackmail is used, but only Samantha can put a stop to Analise. However, when a trauma from her past is triggered, she may not have the courage or strength to do what’s needed. If she doesn’t, Mason’s future could be destroyed.

Finally! This book was well worth the wait, no questions asked. I can’t believe I was lucky enough to receive a copy of an ARC. My best friend spent an entire week rereading the first book in the series, Fallen Crest High, and she forced it upon me after about her 50th read. Bestest. Best. Friend. Ever. I spent about a week rereading it as well and I became obsessed with waiting for the second book to come out. Well it’s here! And it is fanfreakingtastic. The wait was not disappointing, and it was an excellent follow-up to Fallen Crest High. Is it bad I’ve already read it three times?

Drama, drama, drama. That is what the first book revolved around, and the fun continues in the second one. However, Sam and Mason are finally together in Fallen Crest Family, making this one more romance centered instead of plot-centered like the first one. I absolutely adored Sam and Mason. Their chemistry is HOT. Mason and Sam are literally all over each other all the time. Interrupting comments include:

“I know the two of you are horny rabbits and in love and all that, but I don’t think you want to make an amateur sex tape right here.” –Nate.

“You guys are too horny. I don’t think it’s normal…I feel like I should give you two the birds and the bees speech…” –Logan

It’s ridiculous! But then again, with a guy as amazing as Mason, how is a girl supposed to resist? Don’t worry though. Although there are some extremely steamy scenes, their relationship is way more than just physical. I truly believe that they are soulmates. They understand each other with barely any words. Sam is pretty vulnerable in this book, and Mason is there to be her rock and protector every step of the way. They’re only open up with each other. Mason is only soft towards her, and fiercely in love with her. Sam prefers to show him the ways he loves her. I love, love, love Mason. He’s the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome. He is sexy and built. He is a bad boy on the outside, but a passionate lover to Sam when no one else is around *le sigh*. Sam is going through a lot throughout this book. There were times I wanted to shake her and tell her to stand up for herself, but I understand her fears and need to protect Mason. I love the strength and passion of their relationship. Even though their future is unsure with Mason going off to college soon, I have little doubts of anything happening to them.

I know you’re now wondering what this book is about then if Sam and Mason have such a perfect relationship. The answer: Sam’s insane “mother” Analise. She is even worse in Fallen Crest Family than she was in Fallen Crest High. She does not approve of Sam and Mason’s relationship. Sucks to be her, because no one’s gonna stand in their way. I don’t want to spoil anything, but man, Analise has a talent for manipulation and screwing everyone over. Something horrible needs to happen to her. However, as long as Sam has Mason and Logan by her side, they will survive. Hopefully. Aww Logan… I love him too! He’s adorable, yet intimidating when he needs to be. He’s such a man-whore. I truly hope he gets a happily ever after eventually. He deserves it. He is so loyal and accepts Sam whole-heartedly as a sister. The loyalty between Sam and Mason, Mason and Nate, Logan and Sam, Logan and Mason, and even Heather and Sam, is moving to me. Heather becomes Sam’s new best friend, while also bringing even more drama to the table. We meet new characters, and we face old characters. Make sure to read or reread Fallen Crest High before reading Fallen Crest Family or it won’t make sense. But, I’m sure if you’ve read Fallen Crest High, you’ve already read it more than once because that is just the kind of book it is.

Like in Fallen Crest High, Fallen Crest Family has a happily ever after. For now… There is definitely no expected release date for the third installment of the series, Fallen Crest Public, nor is there any news on how many there will ultimately be. I will await news as long as possible, because I am highly addicted to this series. Tijan has a way of writing books that make them rereadable. Multiple times, of course. Stay tuned!
