Interview with Evan
(warning: may contain spoilers)
So, Evan, did you ever figure out why you decided to take that kid out for Laney on that fateful day when you were 10 years old?
Evan: I was honestly scared for the kid. Laney was going to tear that boy up, I could see it in her eyes, so I actually did him a favor.
Romance Addict-Tricia: What was your first thought when you saw Laney all those years ago?
Evan: That I had to get to know her, she wasn’t like the other little girls, she was…spunky, yeah spunky’s a good word for it. She changed a bit as things in her life changed, but I always saw the lil’ spitfire.
Romance Addict-Tricia: How did you get into football? Was it always something you wanted to do?
Evan: Every summer, they had Kiwanis football, so my dad signed me up one year and I instantly loved it. From that day on, yes, I always wanted to play.
Romance Addict-Tricia: What’s with all the nicknames for Laney? Not that we have a problem with it. It’s so adorable. But why?
Evan: I really don’t know, it just started popping out of my mouth and never stopped. Don’t let her fool ya, she loves it. It almost became a game, to see if I could top the last one.
Romance Addict-Tricia: What’s your favorite Disney movie?
Evan: (He laughs) You would ask that. I have been told, repeatedly, there is no right answer, they’re all equally brilliant. But since Laney’s not here to scold me, I’ll answer honestly, and say Finding Nemo. It’s half Disney, and has no songs!
Romance Addict-Tricia: Where do you picture yourself in 10 years?
Evan: I could say the ultimate scenarios I picture in my head; playing for the NFL, rich enough to buy my parents a big house on the lake right next to me, but I’m a bit of a realist, so I just hope to be happy. That’s all I can ask, right? I mean, I’d like to have a good job, stay pretty close to my family, maybe be married with possibly a kid or two…(he shrugs) I don’t know.
Romance Addict-Tricia: What do your parents think of your latest big decision?
Evan: Obviously they weren’t thrilled, but my parents are pretty supportive, and they trust my decisions. My dad is real big on learning things the hard way, on your own, so he’ll give you his opinion one time; then let you choose whether or not you’re going to listen. My mother, well, she mothers, but not in a suffocating way. I got real lucky with my parents, they’re amazing.
