REVIEW - Beautiful Stranger by Christina Lauren

I am going on the record now: I am buying whatever Christina Lauren is selling. I really am. I’m a big fan…HUGE. When I read Beautiful Bastard, the predecessor to Beautiful Stranger, I joked that I needed to take the ‘book walk of shame’ because it was so smutty. Well, I took that ‘book walk of shame’ again with Beautiful Stranger and I will do it again and again and again…You get the point, yes? I love Beautiful Stranger. What’s to love? A lot. But if you must know, it’s Max Stella. Max is where it’s at. Let’s talk about Max shall we?

Max Stella. Oh…Max Stella. Max happens to be a sinfully sexy successful businessman…sounds great, right? Need more? May I just add that Max is also British!!! AND Max also plays rugby. I may or may not be a tad biased as I may or may not have an obsession with a certain British rugby player. But that is neither here nor there…just know that Max is hot with a capital H! Don’t believe me? The hotness that is Max says things like, “Don’t you close your eyes, don’t you fucking close your eyes. I’m about to come.” See!?!? I told you Max is hot…so hot on so many levels.

The sexy beast that is Max soon falls for the tenacious Sara. When Sara meets Max at a club soon after relocating to New York, Sara has no intentions of ever seeing Max again. You see, having sex in public at a club isn’t usually the reserved Sara’s style. Sex? In a club? In public? With Max? Yep, that happened. And it was hot…so very hot. Something you should know: Christina Lauren is all about writing the good stuff. Beautiful Stranger is full of hot and steamy sex between Max and Sara. Oh…word of the day before reading Beautiful Stranger : voyeurism. Oh yeah… voyeurism.

Beautiful Stranger goes beyond the sexy when British playboy Max wants Sara to be more than a casual fling. Max is all in while Sara is the one pulling back and pushing him away. She has her reasons of course but are these reasons enough to keep a man who nicknames you ‘Petal’ and says things like, “You mean did I fuck you senseless and admit that you basically own me? Yes.” at bay? I need to fan myself just thinking about Max and his hotness.

You must, must, MUST get to know this Beautiful Stranger. Christina Lauren did something with Beautiful Stranger that I didn’t think could be done. They made me love the second book more than the first. When I learned that Beautiful Stranger would follow the story of Max and Sara rather than Bennett and Chloe from Beautiful Bastard, I stomped my foot and pouted for a bit. In retrospect, this foot stomping and pouting was completely ridiculous. Beautiful Stranger met and far exceeded my expectations! Whoever said, “Don’t talk to strangers.” has clearly never met Max Stella. Buy it! Read it! Love it!!!

Lauren (on the left) and Christina (on the right) have been writing all kinds of stories together since 2009. This is not the first erotic romance they’ve ever written . . . but it is the first one under this name. Separated by the pesky state of Nevada, these co-author besties talk several times a day, agree that Ruby Pumps is the best nail polish color ever, and would, if given the choice, spend all day staring at the ocean from the San Clemente pier.

You can find them online at www.christinalaurenbooks.com or @seeCwrite & @lolashoes.
Picking up where Beautiful Bastard left off, Chloe Mills and Bennett Ryan continue their steamy, combative relationship.

Just when Chloe’s career starts to take off, Bennett wishes it would all slow down long enough to spend a wild night alone with his girlfriend. But after he refuses to take no for an answer, Chloe and Bennett find themselves with two plane tickets, one French Villa, and a surprising conversation that, predictably, leaves them wrestling under the covers.
