Wow, so I really didn’t think that Jasinda could ever match Nell, Kyle, and Colt’s story from Falling Into You, and I was definitely proved wrong. Jason and Becca’s story caught me off guard; it was fantastic. It was just as powerful and just as emotional as the first one. The synopsis confused me at first, but I quickly caught on to how the story was formatted. Jason is Kyle’s best friend and Becca is Nell’s best friend. Their love story runs parallel to the one of Nell with Kyle and then with Colt. I think that it’s brilliant how Jasinda thought to make another amazing love story that parallels Falling Into You. Who would have guessed that there was a whole other story going on at the same time? Of course it was heart-breaking all over again to have to live all of the worst moments from Falling Into You, since the stories touch quite often, but the outsider viewpoint on that is enlightening. And we also get to see Nell’s relationships with Kyle and Colt from a different standpoint. Although Falling Into Us is a companion novel and is not absolutely necessary to read after the first, I highly recommend reading the Falling Into You first for maximum impact. This review might contain spoilers for the Falling Into You.

The story starts off with Jason’s friends daring him to ask Nell out on a date, as everyone knows he has had a crush on her since third grade. It was absolutely adorable how nervous he was to ask her and how excited he was for it when she said yes. But as we know from Falling Into You, the date never happens because Kyle and Nell get together instead. Nell tells Jason to ask Becca out instead; and despite his initial hesitation, he does at her recommendation and thus begins their lifetime romance. The story starts alternating between Becca and Jason’s points of views from the very beginning, and honestly I couldn’t imagine it any other way. We get to be firsthand witnesses to Becca’s extremely strict parents, her struggle with her stutter, her druggie brother, and her escape through poetry. On the other hand, we also have to endure Jason’s abusive cop father. I truly felt for both of them. Jason couldn’t report his father because his father was the authority; and although he knows that his father will never be proud of him, he still pushes himself so hard to try to prove him wrong. This turns him into an amazing football player; however, the abuse is awful. I can identify with Becca and the whole strict parents who push
Schoolwork Of course, what I had to go through wasn’t near as bad and I am definitely not as smart as Becca, but her feelings of loneliness are ones I recognize. Also, the way that she has to sneak around? Been there, done that. And I am lucky to also have brothers who cover for me, even if they are younger.

Their love story was empowering and also adorable. I haven’t read a story in a long time where the guy and the girl experience all their firsts together, so I forgot how aww inducing first love could be. Except, Jason and Becca aren’t just each other’s first loves, but they are each other’s only loves. That is a concept that seems so fairy-tale like to me, and I absolutely loved it. They professed their love so early on in their relationship that it worried me but they proved me wrong. I knew that they were going to have to go through a lot of drama together, however, I underestimated the strength of their love the entire book. Not once did they ever break up. Not once. I was expecting at least one the whole book. But nothing. And that is truly amazing. They endured so much together. They grew together, and they experienced life together. It’s a truly inspiring love story, and we see them together for eight years.

It was such an emotional story. At times I couldn’t figure out what to feel other than awe. Their story is not a perfect one, but their love is. Both characters prove their strength time and time again, but, at the same time they truly need each other. Jason was so loving and understanding, which I think is miraculous considering all the abuse he has been through. Becca is a small but lively thing. I loved how she was able to be her true self with Jason, and we see her grow so much through the book. Their lives touch Nell’s quite a bit in this book. Let me just warn you, that tree scene from Falling Into You shows up here. It was brutal. We also see Becca trying to reach out to Nell, and Nell making her promise not to tell anyone about her cutting, which she did to deal with the pain. Another scene to be aware of is Nell and Colt’s first tragedy together (don’t want to be too spoilery here), but on the bright side, we get to see them get married! Yay! Also, I just think I should mention that there is no shortage of hot scenes in this book. Maybe I need to go back and reread Falling Into You, but Falling Into Us had a lot more sex scenes in my opinion and they do not disappoint. But then again, when does Jasinda Wilder ever disappoint?

I highly, truly recommend Falling Into Us and for those who haven’t read Falling Into You, stop missing out! These powerful love stories are inspiring. It shows that love can heal and endure. They are not only about first and forever loves; they are also about learning to trust in love when life knocks you down

So how did I get myself into this situation, you ask? Simple: desperation. When you're faced with being homeless and hungry or taking off your clothes for money, the choice is easier than you'd imagine. That doesn't make it easy, though. Oh no. I hate it, in fact. There's nothing I'd like more than to quit and never go into another bar again, never hear the techno beat pulsing in my ears again, never feel the lecherous gazes of horny men again.

Then, one day, I meet a man. He's in my club, front and center. He watches me do my routine, and his gaze is full of hunger. Not the kind of desire I'm used to though. It's something different. Something hotter, deeper, and more possessive. I know who he is; of course I do. Everyone knows who Dawson Kellor is. He's People Magazine's Sexiest Man alive. He's the hottest actor in Hollywood. He's the man hand-picked for the role of Rhett Butler in the long-awaited remake of Gone With the Wind.

He's the kind of man who can have any woman in the entire world with a mere crook of his finger. So what's he doing looking at me like he has to have me? And how do I resist him when he looks at me with those intoxicating, changeable, quicksilver eyes?

I'm a virgin, and he's an American icon of male sexuality. I'm a stripper, and he's a man used to getting anything and everything he wants. And he wants me. I know I should say no, I know he's the worst kind of player...but what my mind knows, my body and my heart may not.

And then things get complicated.
