BLOG TOUR & REVIEW - Wednesday by Kendall Ryan

No strings attached.

It’s not what I really want, but it’s all he has to offer. He’s filled with turmoil and heartache and regrets, but for two hours every Wednesday all he feels is me. How much I desire him, how desperate he makes me, how much I’d like things to be different between us. Real.

He used to be my best friend back before he got married. And now? Now, he’s a young widower. It would be wrong on so many levels to expect something more from him, so I give him what he needs.

But I know I can’t keep this up. I’ve already given him my body, my soul. I want him to have my heart. It might drive him away forever, but that’s a risk I’m willing to take.

Wednesday is an angsty stand-alone told from dual points of view. If you’re in the mood for something quick and dirty, you’ve found it. Proceed at your own risk.

Wednesday was not at all what I was expecting! Kendall Ryan has a talent for writing a synopsis that is so teasing it grabs at you and can completely intrigues you. She does it to me every time! The blurbs for her books are such a tease that I immediately have to know what the book is about!

Wednesday was no different! I had to know what this book was about and completely surprised at the story and love every second of unfolding that mystery!

If you are looking for a quick fast-paced erotic read, this is the book for you. I was able to finish the book in one sitting. It was quick, it was intense and totally captivating with a heart-warming story to go along.

Not going to lie however, it took some time to warm up to our hero, Shaw. You can gather from the synopsis that Shaw has lost his wife and now is at his ex-best-friend’s place every Wednesday night for some hot sex. No talking. Nothing else. Just sex.

Eventually I fell in love with Shaw and Chole both. But Kendall Ryan made sure that these characters had to work for it. And they so totally do!

BLOG TOUR & REVIEW - CHARGED by Jay Crownover

CHARGED - coverFrom the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men books comes the second installment in the Saints of Denver series featuring a bad girl and a by the book attorney who could be her salvation...or her ruin.

Avett Walker and Quaid Jackson’s worlds have no reason to collide. Ever. Quaid is a high powered criminal attorney as slick as he is handsome. Avett is a pink-haired troublemaker with a bad attitude and a history of picking the wrong men.

When Avett lands in a sea of hot water because of one terrible mistake, the only person who can get her out of it is the insanely sexy lawyer. The last thing on earth she wants to do is rely on the no-nonsense attorney who thinks of her as nothing more than a nuisance. He literally has her fate in his hands. Yet there is something about him that makes her want to convince him to loosen his tie and have a little fun…with her.

Quaid never takes on clients like the impulsive young woman with a Technicolor dye job. She could stand to learn a hard lesson or two, but something about her guileless hazel eyes intrigues him. Still, he’s determined to keep their relationship strictly business. But doing so is becoming more impossible with each day he spends with her.

As they work side-by-side, they’ll have to figure out a way to get along and keep their hands off each other—because the chemistry between them is beyond charged.

  CHARGED - Tour Teaser 1

I’m pretty certain Jay Crownover was a therapist in a previous life. At the very least her characters and the stories she gives them are my therapy. I’ve connected with every single word I’ve ever read of hers. Avett and Quaid’s journey to love and happiness was no different.

I was so connected and became so invested in Avett and her journey to not only love but self-discovery that I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat as to what she would do next. Hoping she would find her way with Quaid.

If you are a die-hard fan of Jay’s like I am and read every book as it’s published, then you remember our hero and heroine from previous books. And let’s be honest, these two characters were not favorites or ones I would have voted to get their own story. Avett was this annoying punk kid who came off as a know-it-all with no respect for anyone. Quaid came off as this douche up-tight know-it-all with no respect for women… I mean… these were no likeable characters.

But let me tell you, Jay not only knows how to redeem the characters who you know are lost but she also knows how to bring opposites together in such a way that it actually doesn’t make since for them not to be together.

When I got to the end of Built and knew these characters were getting their story next I became so intrigued that I was obsessing counting down until I could get lost in what I knew would be an epic journey!

And it WAS! It KILLED! Avett and Quaid’s story was beyond what I expected! Once again Jay Crownover’s has written characters that felt so real in a story that was soul-touching!

Avett
I blew out a breath and felt that bottom I had careened onto reach up to embrace me even tighter. “It is what it is. I’ve let both my folks down a lot over the last few years but getting caught up with a guy that would rob the bar, a guy who could threaten my dad’s people.” I shook my head. “I deserve to rot.”
I was being overly dramatic but that’s how I felt. I deserved to sit in jail and so much worse than that. Self-pity was good company down here at rock bottom and I wasn’t ready to let go of the warmth it provided just yet.
He gave me a look I couldn’t read and headed for the door. “I’ll call your parents for you and see if we can have something in place before tomorrow. Working on your case will be a lot easier for both of us if you aren’t incarcerated. Remember, you need to listen to me, Ms. Walker. That’s the first rule in all of this.”
Panic hit me like a truck. What if he called my dad and my dad told him he’d had enough of his problematic daughter and her endless nonsense? What if he couldn’t love me anymore? Jail I could survive; losing my father for good, well, it would be the end of me.
Without thinking I jumped to my feet, which had the chains on both my hands and my legs rattling loudly, and two uniformed officers hurried into the room. I was about to make maybe the worst decision to date but I couldn’t stop the words from sliding off my tongue.
“Don’t call my dad!” Recklessness, thy name was Avett Walker.
The attorney turned around and looked at me like I had grown a second head. He didn’t say anything as the officers moved to either side of me and told me to calm down.
“You can’t call my dad.” The words sounded as panicked and as desperate as I felt on the inside.
His broad shoulders lifted and fell in a shrug like he really couldn’t give a shit that he was about to ruin my life…which was saying a hell of a lot considering where I was.
“I have to.” He sounded bored and impatient with my outburst.
I narrowed my eyes at him, and that vortex of awful, which I always seemed to be smack dab in the center of, started to spin faster and faster around me.
“Then you’re fired.” I saw the cops exchange a look and my rushed words had the blond man turning fully back around to look at me. “I don’t want your help. I don’t want anything from you.”
Finally, there was something other than indifference in his gaze. There was surprise, maybe a hint of admiration colliding with a huge splash of humor in the pale depths.
“Sorry, Ms. Walker, but you didn’t hire me, so that means you don’t get to fire me.” That grin of his, which should be registered as a deadly weapon, flashed across his face again as he watched me, and then he was gone.

And don’t miss the first titles in The Saints of Denver Series!

NEW RELEASE - Sugar Daddy by Sawyer Bennett

Title: Sugar Daddy
Series: Sugar Bowl #1
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Publisher: Loveswept
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 24, 2016

Blurb

“This book devastated me in the most wonderful way,” raves Meredith Wild. In Sugar Daddy, the New York Times bestselling author of the Cold Fury series proves that vengeance is sweet—but seduction is to die for.

Sela Halstead lost her innocence in a way that no sixteen-year-old should ever have to endure. She’s spent years trying to forget that night even while wondering about the identities of the monsters who brutalized her—until a telltale tattoo flashes across Sela’s TV screen. The incriminating ink belongs to Jonathon Townsend, the millionaire founder of The Sugar Bowl, a website that matches rich older men with impressionable young women. Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend’s world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner.

The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who’s done every dirty thing imaginable, there’s something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it’s not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she’s hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever.

Note: Sugar Daddy ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck’s story continues in Sugar Rush and Sugar Free!
