BLOG TOUR - You Were Mine by Abbi Glines

Gossip is the ultimate currency in Rosemary Beach, but Bethy and Tripp have managed to keep one big secret to themselves.

Eight years ago, Tripp Newark was dating a rich girl he didn’t like and was on his way to Yale—and a future he didn’t want. The only way he could escape his predictable life would be to give up the money and power that came with his family’s name. And that’s exactly what he planned to do. At the end of the summer, he was going to ride off on his Harley and never look back.

That was before he met Beth Lowry.

It was only supposed to be a summer fling. She was a sixteen-year-old trailer-park girl who served drinks to his friends at Kerrington Country Club. They didn’t run in the same social circles. No one even knew they were friends, let alone lovers. Yet, for one summer, Bethy became his entire world.

But he couldn’t give up on his plan. He needed to leave Rosemary Beach, but he vowed he would come back for her.

Problem was, by the time he came back—years later than promised—it was too late. His cousin, Jace, had already claimed the woman he loved. . . .

So I guess I’ll let you in on a secret of mine… The Rosemary Beach series is my own personal form of crack. I can’t get enough of Abbi Glines! I sit here and count down the days until I can have my kindle dates with the Rosemary boys. Tripp was no exception. I thought Grant would forever hold my heart out of the Rosemary boys, but Tripp slipped in there and might have stolen it away.

Bethy was a strong presence in Rosemary Beach right out of the gate in the series. She became fast friends with Blaire and the rest is just history. She’s always been a part of everyone else’s story and I’m glad Abbi decided to continue to develop Bethy.

However, I think we all can agree that Abbi might have ripped our hearts out in the process of developing Bethy’s story with Tripp.

**DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU HAVEN’T READ SIMPLE PERFECTION**

So about roughly 80% into Simple Perfection my heart was ripped out of my chest. Abbi Glines killed off the beloved character Jace, Bethy’s boyfriend. I’m not even going to lie, I was a little bit on Woods’ side in blaming Bethy and had a hard time accepting he had been killed off. Abbi might have even gotten some strongly worded (and in all caps) tweets about it. ;)

Needless to say, I went into You Were Mine still holding a little bit of a grudge but I had hope Abbi would be able to get me on team Tripp and Bethy. I also didn’t know how she could make me love Tripp when Jace was just so loveable…

Well, she put my fears to rest. I was all in tears and happily cheering on team Tripp and Bethy not far into the book. I also liked that Abbi gives us a look into their back story and we get to see how Tripp and Bethy fell in love the first time.

If this book doesn’t turn you into being like me where you can’t help but devour every Abbi Glines book – something is wrong with you!
