I’m going to need some new adjectives to describe my love
for Kendall Ryan and her books. I think I’ve run out and at this point I know I
sincerely biased to anything the woman write because it’s just so good. Her
writing and her stories just keep me hooked and I sit here and tap my foot
until her release days.
So we met Pace Drake in Filthy
Beautiful Lies and Filthy Beautiful
Love as Colton’s fun-loving brother. I really couldn’t help but get
attached to him in the first two books because his warm personality just drew
me in.
We also met Kylie Sloan in Filthy Beautiful Lies and Filthy
Beautiful Love as an employee of Colton’s who works from home and is a
single mother. It’s not hard for any mother of young children to connect with
her.
I also love how Kendall draw inspiration from her own life
and puts it into her characters. Just like Kylie and her son, Max, using baby
sign language to communicate. Now you have to be super super patient and
consistent to get a toddler to learn and use baby signs. Believe me, I know
from experience. And Kendall herself confirmed that her own son does in fact
use baby signs to communicate.
Things like that make her characters more realistic to me.
Now I will admit I was a little worried going into Pace’s
book because I like my heros a little bit more like Colton – dark, a little
mysteries and a little bit broken. Pace is nothing like that! He’s fun, flirty
and warm and you just want to cuddle him to death! However, it turns out that
Pace just completely stole my heart and I have no plans to ask him to return
it.
