CHARACTER INTERVIEW - More series by Jay Mclean

Tricia: Hey Cam! Hey Lucy! *squeals and gives them both a hug* It’s so great to have both of you visit the blog today! Thank you for coming.
Lucy: Thank you for having us. You're adorable. I want to hug your face.

Tricia: So what are you two up to these days? How’s college life treating you?
Cam: College is good. It's tough. There's a lot going on in my life, which doesn't leave much time with Lucy. Hopefully soon, things will settle down for me and I'll be able to feel grounded again.

Tricia: So from what we’ve heard so far from Jake and Logan, you two took a while to get together. What was the turning point for you? Was it the same moment that you realized that you were in love with one another?
Lucy: I've always loved him, even before he knew it.

Tricia: Cam, what has been your favorite Drunk Lucy moment to date?
Cam: There have been sooo many. I can't pick one. I love that people think of her as Drunk Lucy. To me, she's just Lucy. The same girl I fell in love with when we were fifteen.

Tricia: Lucy, Cam seems to be a dream guy, is there anything you can share—embarrassing, gross, etc.—that would make us any less jealous of you?
Lucy: Ha! No. Nothing. He's perfect. Legit, perfect.

Tricia: Where do you guys see yourselves in ten years?
Cam: In love. Married. Kids. A ton of kids.

Tricia: Can we play a little word association game? What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear these words?
Lucy: You do this one babe.
Cam:

Tricia: Thank you so much for visiting us here at Romance Addict! I would love for you guys to come back. And you’re more than welcome to bring your friends ;)

*Mikayla*
In one night my fairytale ended. Or it may have begun. This is my story of friendship and love, heartbreak and desire, and the strength to show weakness.

*Jake*
One night I met a girl. A sad and broken girl, but one more beautiful than any other. She laughed through her sadness, while I loved through her heartbreak.

*This is our story of a maybe ever after.*

He was right. It made no difference whether it was 6 months or 6 years.
I couldn’t undo what had been done. I couldn’t change the future.
I couldn’t even predict it.
It was one night.
One night when everything changed.
It was so much more than just the betrayal.
It was the Tragedy.
The Deaths.
The Murders.
But it was also that feeling.
The feeling of falling.

I’ve reread More Than This about 30 times and I still can’t figure out how I’m supposed to express in words how much I love this book. The first time I read More Than This I blamed my overly emotional state after reading to me starting the book at one in the morning and finishing around 3 in the morning. But every single time, I read it I fall in love with the characters all over again. The emotions don’t get any less intense each time either. That is true props to Jay McLean’s writing style. The storyline is unique and still devastatingly as well as fantastically emotional. I found the characters relatable not because I’m Filipino just like Mikayla is half or because they’re young like I am, but because they are REAL. They say things normal people would say, they’re realistic, fiercely loyal, and hysterical. I loved the alternating points of view between Kayla and Jake.

"For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction."

For every choice you make there are rewards,
or there are consequences.
It was my choice to walk away the first time.
And my choice to chase her the second.
But sometimes you don't get a choice,
and all you get are the consequences.

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.
Because loving him didn't give me
the strength to walk away.
It didn't give me
the courage to fight for him.
And when it was over,
all it gave me was a broken heart.

Jayed [jeh-ed] (verb) – being sucker punched in the gut with strong emotions that seem to come out of nowhere when reading a Jay McLean book.

I came up with the phrase Jayed while reading the emotional rollercoaster that is More Than Her. I didn’t know what to expect when it came to Logan’s story, but I don’t think it was this. More Than Her was an angsty, powerful story about falling in love and regrets. Yeah, those two don’t mix well. At all. The way the story was set up was unique and I loved the dual POVs as usual. Logan and Amanda are full of surprises, and they are some of the most complex characters I have ever met. I didn’t expect there to be such dark aspects in MTHer. Like I said. Jayed. Over and over again. It’s overwhelming in feels, one moment you’re swooning on Cloud Logan, next you’re on the ground, rocking back and forth in the corner. Is that normal? I guess for a Jay McLean book it is. MTher is different from More Than This that’s for sure, but all the real-ness and hardcore feelings are the same.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us." - Marianne Williamson

We live in a world of darkness and shadows,
where monsters hide and aim to ruin.
And they did.
They ruined us and turned our dreams into nightmares.
But now we're back.
And we're fighting.
Not just for us, or for each other, but for our light.

Ruined. I am ruined. I don’t know how many times I can say this before the whole world finally believes me, but Jay McLean has some mad writing skills. Every time I finish one of her books, I sit and slowly feel the book hangover come over me. It’s ridiculous. I freaking love all her books. More Than Him was definitely different from MTHer. But also the same. Logan and Amanda are imperfectly perfect. See how everything I've said is contradictory? It's because Jay's books throw me all over the place.

-LUCY-
There is a love so fierce it cannot be measured.
A heart so strong it will never slow.
There is a promise so sure it can never lie.
He promised me that love forever.
Even when it wasn't enough.

-CAMERON-
Forever. Everlasting. Eternal.
There is no measure of time.
No sounds of the ticking of a clock.
Just the rising and falling of the sun.
And our own sense of forever.

But our forever isn't always.

Author of Mature YA / New Adult contemporary novels, MORE THAN THIS, MORE THAN HER and my most recent release MORE THAN HIM.
This year, you will also see the release of my new stand-alone novel 'THE ROAD', watch this space!!
I enjoy reading and writing books that make people laugh, cry and swoon for dreamy book boyfriends. When not doing either of those, I can be found looking after my two little boys, spending a lot of time talking to people or on ebay when I should be writing (this drives my admin team CRAZY), watching OTH and trying to avoid house work at all costs.
I am so thankful to each and every one of my readers!! Your support and encouragement means so much to me, you are the reason I continue to write and you have all given me the opportunity to do something that I love. You have my HEART!
