This is a story of Sean
Miller, a dom that will have your panties diving for cover with an eyebrow
quirk. That will have even the strongest woman dropping to their knees in
submission with a piercing stare, and Samantha Richards, a female cop who’s
tough, seemingly impenetrable shell is strong enough to resist everyone except
the one man it was build up to protect her against.
**Disclaimer – If you thought the first two Bliss books were hot, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Creative use of handcuffs, batons, a club scene you have to read to believe, and a tough as nails dominant who is blindsided when the one woman strong enough to disarm him threatens his resolve not to let his past dictate his future.**
Like the other books in the Bliss series, this book can be read as a stand alone. There are common characters in the books but it is not necessary to read the first two books in the series to read this one.

**This is the third book in this Bliss series. However they may all be
read as standalones**
I’ve been in love with the series ever since BJ Harvey
sent me a copy of book one. Mac and Superman cracked me up in Temporary Bliss (see my review here http://bit.ly/IeHWxq), Zander
and Kate stole my heart in True Bliss
(see my review here http://bit.ly/1l6T6lh),
and now Sean and Samantha are making me pass out from their chemistry. I didn’t
know that this would not only be a book about the “ice queen” Samantha and Dom
Sean, but it was also a second chance romance. Normally, I stay away from those
kinds of books, but once I started reading Blissful
Surrender I couldn’t seem to stop.
“How can she still get under my skin after
all these years? Ten years is a long time for me to hold a candle. Actually a
candle is too tame, too timid to describe the myriad of feelings I have for
Sammy. A raging inferno or thermonuclear blast would be more apt. It had always
been like that with us.”
We meet Sean in the first book. He’s on of Mac’s
three friends with benefits buddies. He owns a popular club that is also known
to have other kinky things going on upstairs. We meet Sam in book two as Zander’s
cold partner. Little do we know that Samantha and Sean have a scorching past
together. They dated in college for a year until Samantha suddenly up and left
Sean when he needed her most. I’m not going to talk about what happened or why
it happened that way, because those are major spoilers. However, I loved how we
slowly unravel the mystery of it all. It takes almost the whole book to find
out what forced these two apart when it is so apparent that they were clearly
meant for one another.
“Beautiful, I was waiting. I needed you and you weren’t there. You disappeared and I couldn’t talk to you. I would’ve taken you back in a heartbeat. Hell, if you’d told me in the hospital corridor that you were ready I would’ve stolen you away then and there.”
I loved the build-up that led to Sean and Samantha’s
first time together again. And did I mention the book alternates between both
their POVs? They cross paths after ten years because of Sean’s little brother
and his affinity for trouble. The beginning is a little slow as the author
allows us an intro into Sean and Samantha’s separate lives. Then bam! They meet
again, and they begin to consume each other’s every thought. I loved the angst
of the push and pull they had going on as Samantha kept trying to push him away
while Sean kept trying to be with her again. The sexual tension is strong and
delicious. The only thing better was how explosive they were once they finally
got back together.
“I need Sam in my life; she brings color to
an otherwise black and white world. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not unhappy or
depressed, I’ve got a successful career, a thriving club, and I’m never short
on options for female companionship. The thing is, I never realized how much I
was settling until I saw Sam again.”
Sean was deeper than I first thought him to be. He
cares, like he has true passion for everything he cares about. First example is
his brother, Ryan. They lost their parents when they were young and then they
lost the only other parental figure in their lives when Sean was in college. Ryan
continually takes advantage of the fact that his brother will always help him
out, but throughout the course of the book we see that begin to change as Sean
decides to put Ryan on the straight and narrow. Sean is sexily dominant in bed.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s not hardcore BDSM dom, but he’s alpha enough to get
any girl’s panties wet. The way he fights for Samantha had me melting and their
dynamic together with him always taking care of her made me swoon.
“I need to feel your pussy clench around my
cock as I enter you again, I need to make every inch of your mine…to make you
come hard around me. I want to hear you cry out my name as I move inside you.”
“Yes. I want you. Make my body yours again,
Sean.”
“With
fucking pleasure, darling.”
Samantha is quite different from your average
heroine. She is a no-nonsense girl, who is nicknamed the “ice queen” at the
station. Yes, she’s a cop, and a damn good one at that. She was feisty and she knows
what she wants. Except when it comes to Sean. Deep down, she knows she still
loves him, but she’s fighting it for all the same reasons she had when she left
him ten years ago. Lucky for her (and us), Sean isn’t one to let her get away. She
is scared by how easy it is for her to submit to Sean in the bedroom, and I
admire her for that because I can relate. She is used to having control and
being independent. I think we get to see Samantha let go and mature even more
throughout the course of this book.
“I pour everything into the kiss. All the
heat, the passion, the bedroom tricks I have…none of it means anything in this
moment. It’s about Sammy, the woman I love, finally admitting what I suspect
are long held feelings”
I can’t get enough of this series. I think True Bliss is still my favorite, but Blissful Surrender is definitely a close
runner-up. I want more of them. I need more of sexy Sean and Samantha. They
have scenes that burn up the pages, and I want to see more of them and their
happiness. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the way it ended, but I’m a greedy girl.
I could use more Sean in my life, he just says and does the hottest, most
swoon-worthy things. I can’t wait to get a hold of the doctor in the next book…
“I’ve battled her, I’ve pushed, provoked and
fought for her, and I know in this moment I’ll continue to fight for her until
my dying day. I’ll love and protect her, shield and support her, and wake up
every morning knowing that I’m the luckiest son of a bitch to have her. My
Sammy. My Blissful Surrender”
