BLOG TOUR, CHARACTER INTERVIEW & REVIEW - Everything For Us by M. Leighton

When it comes to passion this hot, it’s all or nothing.

Olivia Townsend’s wealthy cousin Marissa had everything a girl could ask for—a great job, a privileged life, and all the friends she wanted. Or, at least, all the friends money could buy. But one case of mistaken identity has turned her privileged world upside down.

An abduction gone wrong lands her right in the lap of the sexiest, most dangerous man she’s ever met. To Marissa, he’s an enigma, but one to whom she’s irresistibly, inexplicably drawn.

With him comes a new world of freedom and passion, of dark shadows and dangerous secrets, a world where nothing is what it seems—except for the blind passion that Marissa can’t escape—or maybe even survive.

Romance Addict-Dana: One word you would use to describe Marissa

Nash Davenport: Fierce.  Whether it's the way she fights or loves or how she throws herself wholeheartedly into ANYTHING that she wants to do, I'd call her fierce.  I love that about her.

Romance Addict-Dana: So the old adage about people putting up walls…walls don’t adequately describes you…more like fortresses made of steel.Marissa seems to penetrate those walls. Why? How?

Nash DavenportShe was at a crazy place in her life when we met. So was I.  I wanted to find a lose myself in her, to forget about everything else and just be numb.  She was ready to lose herself, too, but for her, she was looking for freedom.  Hers was a show of strength.  She was determined not to go the easy route.  I couldn't help but admire the way she did it despite the consequences, despite the danger to herself.  I was so surprised to see such steel in such a delicate woman.  I think she got in before I realized I was letting her in.

Romance Addict-Dana: Right now, do you feel more like the Nash pre-boat explosion or the Nash that was born on that smuggling ship?

Nash DavenportNeither.  Sometimes I feel like I've never been either of those guys. I know they've both made me who I am, but I'm just now starting to feel like the person I've always been meant to be.  I think that has a lot to do with Marissa. And being able to finally put the past in the past and leave it there.

Romance Addict-Dana: One word to describe your current relationship with Cash.

Nash DavenportOn the mend.  It gets easier every day to see the guy I grew up with, and to appreciate the man he's become.  I know we'll be stronger than ever one day.  And I'm prepared to wait for it.

Romance Addict-Dana: The Nash you are today has been significantly shaped by your real world experiences. If you could re-write history so that none of that ever happened, would you? Or are you okay with the person it has made you today?

Nash DavenportAs many horrific things as I've seen and lived through, I wouldn't change any of them for just that reason.  Of course, if I could have my mother back, I would change that, but I'm not sure she'd be happy living life on the run, so it would probably be cruel of me to wish for something like that.  We've all had a lot to overcome, but we've done it. I think she'd be proud of the men we've become.  And the women we love.

Romance Addict-Dana: What’s your favorite memory/experience with Marissa?

Nash Davenport*smiles*  Let's just say that I took her back to the library and made good on my promise.  That was one of the first places we went after we got back to the states.  Watching her eyes go dark when I took her back into the corner, hearing her heavy breathing when I lifted up her skirt, listening to her whisper that she loves me, feeling the scrape of my ring on her finger when she grabbed onto my arms...yeah, that's definitely one of our highlights.  So far, anyway.  *winks*

Romance Addict-Dana: What were your feelings when you would check up on Cash without his knowledge?

Nash DavenportIt was always a mixture of envy and hatred, but now that I look back on it, I know that what I felt most was just loneliness. And I blamed it on Cash, which wasn't fair. He was doing the best he could with a bad situation, too.

Romance Addict-Dana: Tell us what an ideal day would be like for you.

Nash Davenport: Waking up to Marissa's hair tickling my stomach, rolling her over and showing her what a good morning really feels like, going up on the deck of our boat and looking out over the infinite horizon, knowing that the world is full of hope and possibility.  That's the best feeling in the world.  I never thought I'd have that.  And certainly not with someone like Marissa.  That's not a dream I ever even dared to dream.  And now I'm living it.  It beats the shit out of anything I could've come up with.  *laughs*
Disclaimer! Disclaimer! Disclaimer!!! I must add a disclaimer to this review. I am a HUGE fan of Michelle Leighton’s Bad Boys series. I am and even bigger fan of our hero from the first two novels, Cash Davenport. Everything for Us is the third and final installment of the Bad Boys series. Everything for Us tells the story of Nash and Marissa. Did you read what I just wrote? NASH and Marissa…not CASH and Oliva.

Nash. We are reading Everything for Us from Nash and Marissa’s point of view and not that of Cash and Olivia. Are you crying yet? Are you? I love Cash. I love Cash A LOT. Can you just imagine my pain when I learned that everything for Us wasn’t going to be Cash’s story; rather, we only get to see him in bits and pieces? There were tears. Here’s what I think about that. If you want to tell me Nash’s story, I would love to read it. I would! If you want to re-tell the entire series from Nash’s POV, I will buy it, read it, and love it because I like the characters and the story that much. BUT that is not what happened here. Cash and Olivia got ripped away from me in this final book and I am still disgruntled. There. I said it. I’m disgruntled. Moving on…let’s talk Everything for Us, shall we?

He’s breathtaking. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sexier man. And even in his tuxedo you can see that he belongs in a black leather jacket, perched on the back of a motorcycle. It’s who he is, right down to his bones. Dangerous.

Nash is hot. He is. I mean, he’s Cash’ twin so he has no choice but to be hot. He’s hot and rough around the edges. He’s a take what he wants-when he wants it and how he wants it-kind of guy. Sounds good to me, yeah? And then we have Marissa. I wanted Marissa to get hit by a bus in the first two books because she was so awful. But you know, getting kidnapped and almost killed in the second book made Marissa a bit more likable. And…here we are with Nash and Marissa’s story.

“I could make you forget everything else. I can make sure that you feel nothing but pleasure, that you can’t think past what I’m doing to your body, what I’m making you feel. With my hands…With my lips…With my tongue…And I promise you’ll love every second of it.” –Nash

As a couple, Nash and Marissa are stunningly beautiful. We see that Marissa is seemingly a good girl gone bad while Nash is also a good boy gone bad. Whereas Nash has had several years to adjust to this, it’s all new for Marissa and it’s interesting to watch her struggle from the life she once lived to the life she now living.

It’s not often I see the goodness in people. Or that they surprise me with compassion. Yet Marissa has. I just told her I’m a criminal and a killer, and rather than running the other direction, she cried for me.

So we get to watch this beautiful, yet heartbreaking love story develop between Nash and Marissa throughout Everything for Us. Michelle Leighton brings the hotness like she always does and she writes moments that make you swoon over and over again. For example:

Finally, he lowers his head to mine, his lips brushing softly, sweetly over mine. “I don’t know what to do with you,” he whispers. “Love me,” I answer, reaching behind his head to pull his mouth more firmly against mine.

Okay…so…to recap: Everything for Us is hot. It is! It completes the trilogy and finds a resolution to the issues left lingering from the previous books. However, it does so from the POV of Nash and Marissa which makes me sad. It could be just me. You may love this. I, for one, would like to beg Michelle Leighton for this book from Cash and Olivia’s POV. What do you say, Michelle? Pretty please?!?! Pretty please with whisky on top? In the event this wish doesn’t come true and that we don’t ever get any more of Cash and all his hotness, we still have Nash…the true bad boy of the brothers who will make you melt with words like:

“I’ll spend the rest of my life making you happy, proving to you that you made the right choice. I promise you won’t regret taking a chance on me.”—Nash

Maybe that’s the point…you should take a chance on Nash and Everything for Us. It might not be what you think you want or even know you need but maybe, just maybe…if you can set Cash and Olivia aside for a moment, you too will fall in love with Nash and Marissa.
