Romance Addict Book Blog: REVIEW & GIVEAWAY - Eyes Wide Open by Raine Miller

How can I possibly put into words my love for Raine Miller? I mean really, want can I say that hasn’t already been said? Not only is she one of the nicest people I have ever met, but she also gave the romance reading world Mr. Ethan Blackstone. Who could ask for a better book boyfriend? He’s sexy, strong, athletic and possessive with a military background, and the owner of a top security company?

If I were young and running from a traumatic past while having some unknown psychopath stalking me, I couldn’t imagine a better man to have my side.

Now, I read Naked and All In when she self published them last year. I don’t think you’ll be shocked to hear, I completely fell in love with Ethan and Brynne. And as like everyone else, I waited patiently (well, maybe not that patiently) for Eyes Wide Open after a publisher picked up the series, which delayed the release date.

I had only gotten about half way through Eyes Wide Open when I got the opportunity to meet Raine Miller at the Texas Author Event in Dallas on May 18, 2013. She was the warmest and nicest person to meet! Even though she started off the day finding out one of her books wouldn’t be in the store for everyone to be able to buy and have her autograph, she didn’t let it get her down! She was more then generous to her fans and gave them all the time they asked for!

I was so very honored to meet Raine! It was amazing to be able to talk and spend some time with her!

Naked was written from Brynne’s point-of-view, while All In was written from Ethan’s point-of-view. It was nice to have Eyes Wide Open as a dual point-of-view. We got to go back and forth in being in the character’s heads this time, rather than being in just one of them.

I almost would say I like dual point-of-views better because we get to understand what both characters are thinking at the same time rather than being left wondering what the other one is also thinking.

All In left us off as Ethan and Brynne are arriving at his sister’s estate out of town after a long night of Brynne being sick at an event for her work and then having a threat sent to her phone.

We get taken for a ride and adventure as Ethan and Brynne discover not only where they want the future of their relationship to go, but also where the other one does when the come face to face with some very unexpected news. They have to learn to communicate with one another to learn is the news is going to hurt where their relationship has gotten to or help push it forward.

I sat on the edge of my seat and rooted for Brynne to overcome the anxiety the traumatic events of her past have left her with. I help so helpless just sitting by while she had to face her past when she came face to face with the reason her dad hired Ethan to protect her in the first place.

If I could have jumped into the book to help Ethan protect her, I WOULD HAVE!

I felt like Raine gave us everything we needed in Eyes Wide Open to have closure to the series. (Even though, rumor has it she plans to write a fourth book!) Everything was wrapped up, and we while we all would certainly love having more Ethan and Brynne, we’re not left with any confusing parts or left wondering about anything. Everything seems to be tied up very nicely!

Raine Miller is a New York Times bestselling author who likes to write romantic stories pretty much every chance she gets. She has a handsome husband, and two amazing sons to keep her busy the rest of the time. Her boys know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any. Thank God!
