BLOG TOUR & REVIEW - Tangled by Emma Chase

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

I LOVE this book. I do. I don’t know that I will be able to convey in words exactly how much I love this book. Tangled is perfection. There is no other word to properly describe this book other than perfection. What makes Tangled so perfect, you ask? Everything! From the characters themselves to the story itself, Tangled is a must read. So…let’s get to it, shall we?

Drew…oh Drew…where do we start? I must confess that I am a sucker for a male POV so reading Tangled through Drew’s eyes was an absolute treat! Drew is funny. Can we talk about how funny Drew is for a moment? Here are just a few (trust me, there is a TON!) of my favorite Drew quotes:

What’s that? Yes, I went to Catholic school. You’re surprised? You shouldn’t be. My profanity has a certain religious flavor that can only be learned through a lifetime of Catholic education. Jesus H. Christ…Goddamn it…Jesus, Mary and Joseph…fucking Christ Almighty…holy fucking shit—and that’s just what we heard from the priests.

“Johnny Fitzgerald is an idiot. Vaginas beat penises every time. They’re like kryptonite. Penises are defenseless against them.” –Drew to his preschool-aged niece, Mackenzie

I’ll never get tired of looking at her. Or kissing her. Pussy whipped, thy name is Drew. Yeah, I know. It’s okay. I don’t mind. ‘Cause if this is the Dark Side? Sign me up. Seriously. Don’t be surprised if I start skipping through the streets singing. “Zip-a-Dee-fucking-Doo-Dah.” I’m that happy.

Have I effectively convinced you of the hilarity that is Drew? While Drew is indeed hysterical, he is much, much more. Drew is a catch! All the girls are clamoring for Drew but he willingly acknowledges that he “never rides the same roller coaster twice.” Sorry girls, Drew is a manwhore who has no intention of going to the Dark Side (read: a committed relationship). Enter: Kate.

Kate is a heroine that all readers will get behind because she is just that fantastic. Kate is not only a pretty face. Kate is smart and strong and witty and she will go toe to toe with Drew without even batting an eyelash. Kate is a reader’s dream. So…you get that I love Drew and Kate…I do, I really do. Aside from the characters, the story itself is incredible.

Tangled is a story that allows you to fall in love with the characters and their story. That’s it. These are not genuinely flawed or disturbed characters that have to overcome personal issues or baggage. Instead, these are simply two great characters that have a great story to tell. It’s refreshing really. Tangled is smart, fresh, funny, sexy, and so much more. Tangled is perfection. Believe the hype, people. Believe it! It’s THAT good! Buy it! Read it! LOVE it!!!

  1. Have you ever done something crazy to win someone's heart?

Yes! The craziest thing I did was board a plane and flew to Australia to surprise the person I like :D It was totally spur of the moment and I didn't even think about where I would stay if I got rejected... thankfully, I got my HEA ;)

  8. Oh yes I have! I did a not-so-secret admirer thing in high school. I'd leave notes and cards and little gifts in people's lockers. I'm blushing just thinking about it!

  11. I just read this book and WOW!!! I loved how it was written from the hero's point of view. Okay, I LOVED everything about it...even his jerk moments when I wanted to thump him on the head for a being and idiot. I could not put it down. And...my fan girl moment is over!

  18. I sent a huge 25" balloon to my boyfriend of 3 weeks who was on CQ duty on Valentines Day when he was in the Army. The next morning he stopped to pick up a single red rose, drove to my apartment and proposed. We were married 3 weeks later. We just celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary in March.
So, I guess my actions instigated something crazy to win someone's heart :)

  20. I'm not sure that any of my crazy antics for my ex-boyfriends won their heart. If I had won their heart, we'd be married now! I'm happy that none of it worked. I didn't have to do anything over the top to win my hubby's heart. I'd something crazy to win him back if he started slipping away, though!
