Romance Addict: Can you tell me a little bit about the Breathless Series and how you came up with the idea for it?

Maya Banks: I adored writing the Sweet Series and also the books that I wrote for Harlequin Desire. The Breathless trilogy was a marriage of the elements of those two different kinds of books. I took what I loved most in both sets of stories and combined them into the Breathless trilogy. It's why it was so much fun for me to write!

Romance Addict: You have quite a few different book series out; do you have a favorite or was one of them more fun to write?

Maya Banks: No, I don't have an absolute favorite. What I love most about writing in different genres is never having to write the same thing back to back. By switching each time and with each book, it keeps all those series and genres fresh for me. I don't get bored and when it comes time for me to write the next book of a series I'm always very excited to get back to that world and to that cast of characters.

Romance Addict: What are some projects you are currently working on right now?

Maya Banks: I'm finishing up the last book of the Breathless trilogy and then I'll be working on the next Scottish historical, Highland Ever After.

Romance Addict: What are some good books that you’ve read recently?

Maya Banks: Unfortunately, I've had little reading time lately :( I've been focused on writing my own books and meeting some tight deadlines. But I'm looking forward to being able to get some reading time soon!

Romance Addict: Is there another author or book that has an influence in your writing?

Maya Banks: Not really, no. I enjoy an array of authors and genres but when it comes to my own writing, I have very set ideas of what I love to write and what I enjoy writing the most.
