REVIEW - The Submission of Alistair Ingram by Kelli Maine

Book Description:
Movie star Alistair Ingram strolled into Dolls & Doms private men's club in Las Vegas for his bachelor party and limped out with a torn shirt, red welts covering his chest and a broken engagement splashed all over the pages of every celebrity magazine in the country.

A session with club Dominatrix, Black Betty, will do that to a man.

With Alistair's manager breathing down his neck and Black Betty's abusive ex-husband alerted to where she's been hiding for the past ten years, there's only one thing to do:

Lie.

And get the hell out of Las Vegas.

But the real ruse is on Alistair and Black Betty, because despite both of their best efforts, they've gotten under each other's skin. Can their explicit dance of domination and submission end in anything other than disaster?

My Review:
The Submission of Alistair Ingram turned out to be insanely addictive and I couldn’t put it down until I finished! I actually think Alistair Ingram might be my new book boyfriend.

WARNING- SPOILERS BELOW
The book starts off at Alistair Ingram’s bachelor party at the private club, Dolls and Doms, where Black Betty has been hired to be Alistair’s dominant for the night. She immediately thinks of him as an arrogant and cocky jerk that she wants to teach a lesson to that she really wants to punish.

Alistair thinks of Black Betty as nothing more than glorified striper and doesn’t really think he will be all into being a Submissive for the night, but decides to play along. He thinks he’ll get a little strip tease and then walk out leaving her all hot and bothered because he has no plans on sleeping with a stripper.

When Alistair does start to get into it he tries to turn the tables on Black Betty and have her as the Submissive. However, Alistair quickly realizes that she becomes petrified being the submissive and leaves.

The next morning all hell has broken loose and every talk show and newspaper is reporting that Alistair Ingram and his fiancé Heather have called off their engagement. The reason for the breakup is being reported that Heather caught Alistair with Black Betty.

Alistair shows up at Dolls and Doms to apologize for Betty and the club being in the media. When Alistair finds out that Betty has an abusive ex-husband, who has now found her thanks to the media coverage, he offers to take her back to LA with him to keep her safe. She then confesses to Alistair that her real name is Bethany.

They come up with the story to sell to the media that Black Betty (Bethany) is training Alistair for a movie role that he wants to audition for.

Now there really is no relationship buildup or development for Alistair and Bethany at all, but maybe that is the point. Maybe it was love at first sight without them realizing it? Alistair is immediately protective of her as soon as they meet after she becomes terrified being the submissive with him, He drags her off to LA with him so he can continue to protect her from her ex-husband.

They both seem very determined to break each other down and to get the other to let them take control. Both seem to have a hard time letting go of the control. But they haven’t even known each other twenty-four hours at this point, so who would? Even after a very hot and steamy encounter in the rest stop on the side of the road on the way to LA, they still don’t break each other down until they get to Alistair’s home in LA.

Alistair immediately takes Bethany up to his room and they both start trying to break the other. After they both have orgasms they tell the other that they have killed their “alter-egos”, if you will. Bethany claims she can never be Black Betty again now that Alistair has broken down that wall.

After a disastrous television interview and finding out that Bethany’s ex-husband has broken in and trashed her home in Las Vegas, Bethany decides it is best to leave Alistair to return home and clean up the mess. She believes Alistair is better off without her interference in his life.

When Alistair goes to the audition for the role he was “training” for with Bethany to find he has been paired with his ex-fiancé, Heather, he decides to pass on the movie and try to get Bethany back.

The book ends with Bethany accepting a trip to Cozumel with Alistair. While they are in Cozumel Bethany agrees to come back to LA with Alistair and move in.

Now, again, this relationship kind of went on fast-forward very quickly. They spent maybe a couple of days together in LA before they were separated for 2 weeks and reunited in Cozumel, where he asked her to move in with him. It makes you ask the question, can you fall in love with someone that quickly?

I hope there is more to come from Dolls & Doms because this story was very intense and addictive!
